The tomato plants are mature enough now to produce flowers and begin sexual reproduction. The problem is that tomato plants need insects to aid in the reproduction, whereas the jalapeno plants were easily “wind” pollinated with a simple household fan. I did some research and found that pollination of an indoor tomato plant is done with an electric toothbrush to mimic the vibration of bees wings. Thanks to my sister Lisa Beth Erickson for playing the part of the bee in her homemade Halloween costume.
